ArtFields took root in 2013 with a simple goal: to honor the artists living and working in the Southeast with nine days worth of celebration and competition in the heart of a small, agricultural Southern town, Lake City, SC. Now, ArtFields is an entire organization with immersive year round art experiences and the festival has grown to 17 days long!
During our flagship event, the ArtFields Festival, the town becomes a living art gallery with nearly 400 artworks on display in locally owned venues ranging from renovated warehouses to restaurants and boutiques. With over $100,000 to be awarded, the competition is open to artists of all media who live within the 12 participating states. The event also includes a Jr. art competition for South Carolina student artists, a portrait contest, a maker’s market, and many ways for artists and art lovers to participate.
The arts thrive all year long at ArtFields in our galleries - Acline Studios, Jones-Carter Gallery, and TRAX Visual Art Center - and through our artist studio spaces, downtown public art, youth arts programs, and much more!
